Iowned the Maiden tones back in the day with a JMP-1 and a 9200. Well first of all, Somewhere In Time is not your typical Maiden album in terms of guitar tone. I heard then and I believe now that they used GK's on that album. I used to be around those amps constantly and Somewhere In Time positively REEKS of that tone.

Oneach of their albums, Iron Maiden, Steve Harris specifically, has always written a brilliant epic (except for Killers if I'm not mistaken). Many times these epics are one of the top two songs on the album. Iron Maiden had Phantom of the Opera, Number of the Beast had Hallowed Be Thy Name, and Somewhere in Time has Alexander the Great.
